Can you seal this clear channel from the outside on the top, to prevent water getting into this channel ?
Would really appreciate any suggestions or things that have worked for other owners. Thanks

We had two of our bunk ends fixed under warranty by Jayco. When we first bought our trailer, someone had backed a truck into the front bunk tenting on the camper tearing a big hole in it. the dealer replaced that with a new tent, but drove the screws into this plastic bead too tight and caused it to split around the screw heads.
The same problem existed on the side bunk of our X18D, from the factory. Same problem, screws driven in too tight.
Like you I assumed that I would need brand-new tents, but Jayco fixed both ends under warranty by seam ripping the plastic bead off and sewing a new bead on. So, it may not be as spendy to do as you might think. It took about 2 weeks IIRC. I'd give them a call and see how much they charge.
