X17z owners: What weight Distribution?

For all you 17z owners, what weight distribution are you using? Dealer has the Husky centerline. Not sure if it will be overkill.

I have an equalizer sytem, 90-00-0600 (6k). If you go with equalizer, make sure you get the correct X17Z frame size parts. A dealer will help you with this, but I bought my system on Amazon, and learned a valuable lesson, having to spend more money than I needed to because I didn't realize there are different TT size frames.

x2 on the Equalizer 600/6000. Been working great for 6 years. You'll need the link plates for the BAL frame (at least I did on my 2010 model):

I forced my dealer to install wd hitch on my Wrangler. He stated that it was not necessary.

They were right. After I added air bags into my rear coil springs, I do not use the wd hitch.

For me, the tongue weight was mor of a concern than wd.

We have the classic Husky round bar on our slightly larger X19H. We have 400-600 lb bars and they work fine for our combo. You can get more sophisticated hitches, but probably not necessary for such a small and light trailer.


We do use anti-sway as well which the Centreline builds in. Might be worth a bit more to have one less device.

We use an Equalizer II rated for 6000 lbs. on our X19H which is the big brother to your X17Z. The nice part is it has anti sway built in so no unhooking a separate sway device should you need to back up (or should I say WHEN you need to back up!).

We towed our former 17z with a Jeep Grand Cherokee without WD with no problems. But we did have a factory tow package that included a beefed up suspension.

I've towed my 17c with a Hyundai Santa Fe which would not accept a WD hitch. The front wheels used to break loose on bumps and it handled like crap. I strongly recommend WD unless you're towing with a full sized pickup.

We have a Eaz Lift ReCurve R3 when hooked up to our Pathfinder. Works great and prevents a lot of sag.

E2 by Fastway Products for my X17C. I've got the 800# version. TW is around 500# and Fastway CS suggested that I get the 800# model. Had a Nissan Frontier and the 500# would really make the rear end squat w/o the E2. Have a Nissan Titan now and still get some squat without the E2. It makes everything nice and level and sway is of no concern now.

We ended up taking the dealers deal and installed the Husky centerline. Towed good empty. Now I'll have to see if I need to tweak it when loaded.
