X19H - Farmhouse Finish is... vinyl wrap?

Hello! New member here...

Our family recently joined the RV life a few months ago. We are the new owners of a 2021 X19H with the Farmhouse Finish. Overall we are satisfied with our purchase; it's the perfect "starter unit". However, the longer we are in the unit the more little repairs or construction shortcuts we find. Luckily I consider myself handy, and have already started mods.

We have a 7" tablet we use as our smart home control panel. It comes with a small stand designed to be hooked on a wall like a picture. We used a plastic 3m command hook to hang it to the cabinet frame just above the blank panel by the radio.(Perfectly fills the wooden blank while being close enough to an existing USB port for charging!)

This morning after hanging there for over a week it fell down, landing safely on the couch. That said, it wasn't the command strip that failed.. but rather the VINYL WRAPPING that is apparently adhered to the wood frames to give the white-wash look. I had not considered the interior finish was not paint/lacquer prior to this event! The weight of the unit (possibly combined with the heating/cooling inside the unit) caused a bubble to form about the side of a golf ball. The tablet weight pulled an air gap until the command strip had nothing solid to hang onto. A highly visible pucker was left as a result, luckily without tearing a hole in the wrap. I pulled out a hair dryer, heated the bubble up and gently massaged the air out of the pucker from center of bubble towards the ceiling. This resolved the issue, and unless I told you that happened you would never notice (yay, a win!)

I wanted to post this for others with the same finish to consider when using your 3m strips and hooks. Perhaps this is well known, and I will continue down the path of fixing the things that could have come out of the factory at a higher construction level.

I wonder if the laminate ends up adding weight to the rig? My thoughts, if they can get away from solid doors and drawers and move to pressboard/laminate I bet that comes w/ a weight penalty.

I’m pretty familiar w/ the Greyhawk line of Jaycos, having owned 2 already and been looking at them over the course of about 10 years. The latest runs of them definitely skew heavier then normal, and they all seem to be Farmhouse. I know that color scheme is all the rage right now, but I wonder if things are heavier b/c of it?

The rig I have on order does *not* have Farmhouse.
