X20E single step replacement

Last year we bought the X20E and the only aspect of the trailer that really bugged me was the single step because it was so high. I built a wooden box/step that worked great, but was bulky and heavy when my wife had to move it so I inquired at Camping World about changing to a double step. I was told "take the single off and bolt the double on and your done." That seemed pretty simple! Well, nothing simple about it at all! Had to drill new holes in the metal frame to match the distance on the original step, cut the cross brace that really served no propose, but it was disconcerting to say the least. Then I had to stretch/bend the double to fit because it's 1/2" different. After all that, I figured I was good so I bolted it up, only to find out it wouldn't open and hit the bottom of the camper! I solved that problem by putting 3/8" nuts onto the mounting bolts first, as spacers, and then mounting the unit. It's not the smoothest slider, but it does slide and there is clearance to flip it down. If anyone else does this and has questions, please ask! There's a reason the dealership wanted $100 to install.
