X23B Awning

How do you make the arms on the awning extended up and down when setting it up? I do not want the arms of the awning at an angle.... Tired of banging into them. I'm sure it's simple!

On our 2012 its a carefree of colorado awning. All you can do is pitch it down toward the ground more. I bang my head all the time and my kids laugh at me every time.

Open the awning.
After the braces have been locked into position and the black knobs are tightened, push the brake lever to the close position.
While supporting the arm and roll bar, release the carport foot from the bottom support bracket. The latch is spring loaded. While holding the latch open, slide the arm from the bracket.
Set the arm perpendicular to the ground.
Repeat steps 2 and 3 for the other arm.
Set the brake lever to the open position.
To secure the arms, stake the carport feet to the ground. Stakes are not included with awning.

You might want to check on "You Tube" How to operate a Colorado Carefree Awning.
