X23B Leak Question

Has anyone ever had a leak from the bottom of the front window on the passenger side? The window to the right as you walk into camper.....if so, what have you done to correct it?

My 2001 Kiwi 23b apparently had a leak in that window before I bought the camper used. The front right panel is a brighter white and has no decals so I figure the entire wall panel was replaced at one time or other.

I noticed it was springy and the interior wall covering was crumpling again. Some test probes showed that the top was dry, so no returning of the previous roof leak problem above. Inspection of the window frame showed it was maybe not sealed completely, but tough to tell.

Jayco uses a rope caulk type of sealant which is applied before the window is installed. When the window is clamped into place the sealant is squeezed against the wall panel to seal against the weather.

As we were leaving soon for camping I decided to remove the squeezed out extra sealant and apply Dicor around the frame as a temporary repair. The Dicor self leveling tube caulk actually applied and flowed out very nicely. It doesn't look bad at all.

Something that I discovered during caulking which has me concerned.

There is a joint in the front of our aluminum window frame. That joint is slightly separated. I wonder whether that is the source of my leak? I sealed it as best I could with the Dicor sealant for now. I plan to check that joint very closely when I remove the window frame for repairs/re-installation.

There are also some drain/weep holes in the track which need to be kept clear.

Our kitchen window was broken and I replaced it with a new one. On removal I noticed that it may have been leaking a small amount. The factory seals them with a thin lightweight foam weatherstrip. I used butyl tape installing the replacement. I then removed the window you are talking about and found the same. I'd suggest removing it soon and use the butyl. Check for wall damage when it's out.
I got around to the other small window (which was fine) but sold the HTT before I could get to the sofa window.
