I am thinking it is the control board. The board costs about $115 on Amazon and is easy to access and replace.
The other option is to remove the existing refrigerator and install a residential one. Home Depot as one that will fit for about $325. The benefit is the new one has an actual compressor and a fan, which should work better in high temperatures. The downsize is it will only work on electric. I don't do any bon docking so it isn't a major problem. I can install an inverter and run it off batteries while driving.
I am asking for any comments or opinions. Has anyone changed out their refrigerator?
Thanks for al the help.

I’m not well versed on our absorption refrig’s but your point about the control board makes sense except I’d expect it to work or not work. The working for a couple of days and an off/on cycle makes it work for a couple more is puzzling.
Our current 5th has a larger 4 door fridge/freezer and developed general cooling issues. High temp days with the sun hitting the wall next to the fridge would cause the fridge to really warm up. Turns out the 2 air circulation fans on the back side had died and the poor fridge just couldn’t keep up.
Your replace option sounds tempting however an inverter will probably drain the battery pretty quickly unless you have multiple hi cap batteries.
