Talking X23B sofa

Ok all you X23B owners, who has taken out that awful sofa in the slide and replaced it with recliners? Or just replaced it for that matter. I just want to konw what is involved in removing that sofa. Any knowledge or advice is greatly appreciated.

Haven't done this, but be aware that the floor of the slide is several inches above the floor of the trailer (to clear the wheel arches). A recliner is probably going to require a fair bit of modification so that the seat surface is at the correct height.

This subject comes up about once a year. Sounds great, but not really doable.

There are a number of major issues;
- The wheel well is under the slideout. It take up about 1/3 of the total space.
- There is a flexible 3-4 inch diameter heat duct
- Lots of electrical and water pipes too
- The slide out mechanism also is under there. It is connected to the bottom side of the plywood deck that is directly under the J-Sofa.

I have not heard of any one being successful in replacing the J-sofa. I suspect the best option would be to remove the J-sofa, and install a different sofa frame.

Sorry to burst your bubble.

I wonder if sofas from different years are different levels of quality? Ours is quite comfortable. Not quite like the one at home, but for camping, its fine.
