Honda eu2200i recall

I was looking online at the new honda 2200 inverter generators and noticed in comments people mentioned a recall. Haven't noticed anything posted here, thought I would share. Here is a little info I found.

Sounds like they're giving a warning before whatever recall is possibly coming, or before making a premature recall...

Or... trying to keep quiet that their new 2200 is defective, in order to keep people from making a scene and buying the cheaper models out there.

Mine got recalled - two local service shops are saying that required fuel valves will not be available before end of May.

Honda EU2200i Recall

https://cdn.powerequipment.honda.com...all-poster.pdf

Just purchased 2 new Honda EU2200i generators from our local Camping World. The dealer did have a notice posted by their generators and did say that they've already made the necessary changes to any previously affected generators with matching serial numbers.

What is the problem?

A tube clamp that connects a fuel tube to the bottom of the fuel tank may have been improperly positioned during assembly, and use of the generator may cause the clamp to wear a hole into an adjacent fuel tube. If the fuel tube is worn sufficiently, gasoline and gasoline vapors may leak out and a fire or explosion could occur.

Good Luck

There must be more than one recall in progress. The one I got was for the EU2200i and EB2200i and requires replacement of a fuel valve. Two shops in my area say they are waiting for new valves.

Other than the fuel line recall issue, for those who purchased the 2200 and have used it, what is your review?

I gave up one of my EU2000 units 3 years ago when I sold my houseboat. Used it as a carrot to prompt the buyer to make an offer before next year slip fee came due. It worked but it left me with just one Honda. Will probably do some summer boondock camping and it would be nice to have the paring capability again. My EU2000 is in the serial # range that can be paired with the 2200. Any recommendations?
