Possible toilet valve leaks

Not a recall but,

For some trailers made in 09 with the Thetford aqua magic V foot flush toilets some owners such as myself have developed leaks in the water valve module on back of the toilet. Apparently there were a bad batch of valves produced certain months of 09 as indicated in the thread below from RV.net. I had one of them. I first noticed a wet floor and thought one of my kids had "missed the mark" but found the water there again. Then it stopped, then got worse but could not find the source. Then I did a search and saw this thread and found the problem. The valve leaks out of the top, and only when flushing, and sometimes intermittently making it hard to find. Now Thetford was great to deal with, one call and a new valve was on its way free, no questions asked. I installed it myself, not hard but you have to take up the toilet to properly access the valve. Just a heads up if anyone sees water around their toilet and can`t figure out where its coming from, especially if your rig was built in 09.Chances are it will never happen, but just in case...... BTW this has been the only warranty issue on my TT. -Lee

Mine leaks from where the 90 degree elbow goes up to the toilet... dealer has been unable to fix it in 2 years.... (20 visits) He will get one last chance when I get home in April.... I will show him the video of the leak..... The trailer comes out of warranty in May ... can you guess where I will NOT be taking it for work after that point....

had the same problem on my 2011 165. trip to the dealer and they replaced the valve and the whole toilet because there were broken and loose bolts in the toilet from the factory technitian not installing it correctly.

As I have said before mine is leaking from the 90 degree elbow... a few weeks ago I picked up one of those air tank things that are supposed to even out the flow and stop the hammering.... well the leak has stopped .... I guess it was the hammering of the pump cycling that made it leak... still would like to have it fixed right tho..

Wow! We've had intermittent leaks in that area for three years. Three times back to the dealer for other warranty work and all three times they've claimed they can't make it leak. Well, it IS intermittent.... With this info in hand, I'll make sure they fix it this time.

I just fixed mine this weekend. I asked the dealer about warranty or recall and they said there has been nothing concerning the toilet valve.

It is not a recall but is covered in the two year warranty. I guess when that expires, we are on our own. Mine was less then two years old when it happened, but Thetford did not ask for a VIN or anything, they just sent me one for free when I explained the situation. Good customer service on that one.

It wasn't a big deal, money or install. Just glad I found it before we took it on a trip!

The dealer told me it is common if you do not get the antifreeze right up inside during winterizing, which I really doubt based on how many failures I have read about.

As well she said that she was the warranty officer and there had been no recalls or warranty replacements that she had heard of.

Possible toilet valve leaks

The leak looks to be just at or just above where the supply line attaches. First troubleshooting this morning will be to put a wrench on it and see if its loose. Baring that, there are a few rv dealers and a CW within about an hour's drive. So I'll be playing Mr Fixit today.

I have a 2010 Eagle built Labor Day weekend 2009. (I could tell by the hurry up assembly in a few areas : )
I also had the valve leak and one call to Thetford and a new valve was on its way. No problems since.
