Found the following video that references the importance of the "red nut" pigtails (@ 2:50) when using a Marshall High Capacity regulator.

Yes, I've also seen a notable increase on the price of LP regulators in the last week as well...., I have to believe there will be a shortage of inventory soon.

Thanks for that video, That clears it up. The Green might not have enough capacity for heavy gas flow requirements like a generator. If we were to get a big generator or an instant water heater I would step up to the Red.
But we're unlikely to do either of those upgrades.

Happy with the regulator that has enough capacity, even after the reduced flow after auto switchover, but also happy with the Green level of cutoff protection from major line breaks.

Owners could have been emailed notice of the defect and the recall and got the information asap.

We've been in several Rv stores recently, it looks like the auto switchover regulators are scarce now. Glad we got ours. We won't be home if/when they send the recall letter.

Called Worldwide Rv in Mesa this morning to ask them about this. First lady I talked to didn't know anything about it. She wanted my vin number so she could check and I told her that there was no recall on the paperwork. She told me that since no recall on paperwork than no recall. Told her that the regulator was bad cause all the numbers match up for being bad. Well she put me on hold and turned me over to another guy. Told him the same thing and also asked him if he wanted the safety recall number, he told me he did not care about the safety recall. Told him thank you very much and hung up.

Regulator Recall

Got this reply July 28th from Jayco when asking about my regulator, seems like they don't know, don't care too much either!

"Good morning, thank you for contacting Jayco Customer Service. Please, be advised that the regulator recall will be released after August 4th. After that date, we can advise if your unit is a part of the effected VIN’s. "

Update, went to the post office today and low and behold there is a letter from Thor telling me that our trailer comes under the recall. Called the guy I was working with at a differant rv place and left message. He calls the wife back and left message that he is ordering me a new propane regular and when it come in they will ship it to me. Wow what a turn around.

In April I was in Yuma AZ when I smelled gas coming out if my regulator. It was streaming out of the regulator vent. So I shut off the gas, took it off and replaced it with one I bought at a local rv store. It sounds just like the recall notice I got today in the mail. Should I ask for my money back, try to get a spare under the recall or do nothing?

I received the notice today but had already replaced mine a few months ago after the original one began to leak.

Got my letter today, too. I had checked my date code and it appeared to be outside the range specified on the NHTSA notice. The letter says it affects “certain” 2017-2021 models. And “certain” Winntec models. Guess I’ll double check with the dealer just to be sure.

Member 'madmaxmutt" mentioned in another JOF thread that his recall notice referenced a "reimbursement" if the regulator had already been swapped out.

I have the suspect regulator, and although it is not leaking or acting up at the time I am going to replace it myself with the MARSH EXCEL MEGR253H
My question is do I need the high capacity 350,000 BTU or would the standard capacity 225,000 BTU work. I do have an On Demand Water Heater and of course furnace, and stove. I have a residential refrigerator.

Does anyone actually have one for sale? Stealership told me they expect months of delays. This effects a lot of brand names.

I will. It may actually not be the one I need. Now that the video is out, not sure if I need a red handle or green handle. I'll have to check. Mine may be for sale, lol.

Well, looks like I ordered the wrong one. I went to the storage lot and found out I have the green pigtails. Will the red work on mine? If not, I will just try and sell the red one as it's too late to cancel the order.

What bothers me is I just recieved this in the mail on Aug. 9 and I see you got yours back in June. Closest dealer (we didn't buy from) won't help us because we didn't buy from them. Too many in front of us and parts aren't available. Fortunately we have the single so we will use that until we can get this worked out.

Long wait

Contacted my dealer for regulator recall, first question was, "did you buy this unit from us?", next was "Looking at December for an appointment".
My dealership really puts the DIS in appointment........
