Recall on eagleht 28.5rsts

We received a recall on our eagle fifth wheel but have not been able to get it serviced before our upcoming 3week trip. Recall is for unprotected wiring from battery to solar panel prep. We will not be using solar prep, so will this still be a safety issue? Leaving in four days. Thank you

Recall on exposed battery wiring

I have a new EagleHT 28.5RSTS and have not received the recall notice - however, I did utilize the roof solar prep and found the 'hot' battery cable in the wall directly behind the bath sink area 120 volt outlet. The red battery 12 volt wire had a wire nut on it, covering up the copper conductor. I'm not sure if this might be what the recall is about (should the wire nut have come off) or not. Newt

I got the same recall, and If you don't use the solar system, then you'll never have a issue. I suggest you make arrangements with your local dealer and get it taken care of when you get back from your trip. It'll only take them 30 minutes to correct. All they do is put a 30a circut breaker between the battery and the solor connection. That away the recall is cleared from your unit. You know Insurance companies like to blame anything on not having to pay. If you have any electrical issue on something else, I bet they'll try to say it's because of the recall issue.

Hi, What year Eagle HT do you have. I have the 2017 28.5 RSTS, but didn't receive a recall. Thanks.

She has a 2016 model. I have the 2018 model and just bought a solar panel to connect to the front solar connection. Guess I will take a peek under the hood and see what's going on with the wiring before installing the panel.

If you give me your last 8 of your vin I can see if you have any active recalls at the moment. Also if you have the recall information I can look into more details too.

JaycoChix89, I just saw your offer for looking up a possible Jayco Recall. The last 8 of my vin # is: J1PR0302. I would like appreciate knowing if I have a recall on my 28.5 RSTS (2018). Thank You, Newt

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Call Jayco customer service with your Vin#. They will send them to you.

(BTW, years ago I delivered Jayco trailers, but I never had the chance to deliver one to Hawaii. )
