Thumbs up Recall on our Seneca Cummins emissions

I went in and picked up an updated fuel sending unit for my unit. As Iwas leaving the service gal asked me if I got my recall notice. It was released June 3/2019. It has a campign number of c2115 and the description says ( ISB CM2350 265HP and Higher Emissions Recall Campaign ) to upfit certain ISB CM2350 engines with an improved SCR Catalyst. Just thought I'd put this out there.

We have a 2015 model that the chassis was built in 2014. Ours should fall into the recall, but we have not received ANY notification. Thanks for sharing this news

It looks like it is for units from 2010 - 2015. Mine certainly falls within that range but I have not received any notice and I am the first owner. When I had my power uprate done at Cummins in May they didn't mention anything and obviously had my VIN and engine serial number.

Go to the website and click on new user at the top right and sign up. If I remember you get a couple emails confirming and then you enter you info. Then you login and enter your last 6 of your serial and everything about your chassis will be there an long with parts, wiring and much more. Its free.

Quick Recall Check

If you want a quick look up go the the Freightliner Custom Chassis page and at the bottom you can access Vehicle Recall Lookup with your VIN, here is a link.

In looking at this its a Cummins Campaign. I know that some of you have signed up for the Cummins QuickService portal that gets to manuals, service bulletins, fault codes and some other good data. Once on you have a tab showing Campaigns. None on my 2018.5. Link is https://quickserve.cummins.com

If you haven't signed up this is the best resource for your Cummins engine.

Went to my QuickServe page, it seems my engine is affected. I guess a call to Cummins is on the agenda for Monday!

Just talked to Cummins, they confirmed my unit needs a new SCR.

Dropping it off there today. They said they have to get the specific part number off my unit, order a new one, then install it. They said I should have it back by the end of the week. I hope it works that way, I have a trip planned for late next week!

Interesting, just had my 2017 in on July 2nd. Cummins diagnosed as a failed SCR and replaced under warranty. Mechanic said parts were "revised" and doesn't think I will have the problem again. Never mentioned anything about a recall.

Just got mine back from Cummins, ran no different than before. "Upfit with an approved SCR catalyst" is the their technical explanation. There was also an ECM recalibration and they performed a manual regeneration.

On my invoice the parts were $1,693.34; the labor was $800.40; all zeroed out since it was an emissions recall.

Sure glad it wasn't on me!

Did you look on Cummins QuickServe site using your engine serial number?

I did look on Freightliner (Daimler) DTNA site and NHTSA using my VIN, nothing came up. But Cummins knew about it!

No-
I followed this link:

https://dtna-dlrinfo.prd.freightline...tVinLookupPage
from this post:
https://www.jaycoowners.com/forums/f...tml#post773414

I did not keep my DTNA account up to date, and they deleted my account when I was out on the road... so I can't log into that site.
