Tire Monitors
I think theirs already a thread for this but could not find it.
Going to purchase TST 507 tire monitor system but wondering if it's worth paying more to get the new color monitor. Does anyone know if they are any upgrades other than the color.

I have the black & white monitor and it's been fine for me. All it's doing is scrolling through the tire pressures, and I don't need color for that.
I haven't looked at the TST website recently so not sure whether or not the flow through sensors are an option. I have the old "cap" style, and while I don't have to add air very often, it would be nice not to have to take the sensor off.

I just got a "new" TST 507 unit delivered but it's the old B&W/mono screen which will be fine IMO like previously said. TT is at the shop now from having new tires & stems installed so I can put this new toy on soon. The color monitor would be nice but don't plan on "watching" it much, the alarms are the important thing in my mind.

It looks like both color and grey “new” 507 includes the repeater now which my old 507 didn’t but TST sent me one for free. The color display isn’t smart phone quality- more like a 1976 calculator. I like bright color displays but for a tire monitor either will do.

We upgraded to the color monitor simply because it's a little easier to see, mounted on windshield. My 72 yo eyes couldn't read the BW version without holding a flashlite up to the monitor. I can read it better but it still is not very bright when you go from a sunny day thru the windshield to the monitor.
Happy RVing,
Jeff

Did you contact TST about getting the repeater, or was it just sent to you?? Mine did not have the repeater included. LOL

The older kits didn’t include the repeater. I was having intermittent issues with mine losing a sensor and after working with tech support they sent one to me.

Thanks,
I'm picking the TT up tomorrow with the new tires installed, so I'll install it this week and go from there.

I'm ready to order the TST 507 Tire Monitors but can't decide on the caps vs flow thru. What do you use? I like the flow thru but I know they stick out farther and they weigh more.

I have the flow thru. Mine didn’t come with a repeater but I’ve never had any problems getting the signal. I had my tires balanced with the flow through installed on the valve stem.

I've read of people having issues with the flow thru, and that is why I went with the regular caps/sensors. It may be 50/50 on having issues with flow thru sensors, it doesn't seem like it a big deal to remove the cap style and then screw 'em back on, but I haven't had the opportunity to use it.
