2013 Landing Gear

Have 2013 Jayco 31.5RLTS bought in February. Have had since then issue with front landing gear working then just stop. this happens more on extension than retraction. requires constant pause then hit button again to reach as leveling unit. Dealer replaced switch first and problem continued, the motor was replaced. Still have problem, any one with similar issue or other suggestion to look at. Wondered if limit switch (if one on gear) may be bad stopping motor only to go again when button pushed. realize motor on this unit geared slower than on 2007 Jayco fifth wheel . Appreciate anyone thoughts.

Sounds like a circuit breaker. On my 2011 the slide motors had them and would trip if the motors were stressed. Since it is happening on the upward load direction Jayco may have installed some that when a certain amp or temp is reached it trips. By stopping you are allowing the circuit to reset. Just a thought.

Did you try contacting Jayco directly? Ask the question to them on circuit protection.

Welcome!

It sounds as if it is a circuit breaker. If you have a clamp on DC amp meter you could easily test the motor load and see if the circuit breaker is being overloaded. I bought a Sperry brand one a while back that does both AC and DC for a reasonable price, I think about $55.

I agree with the circuit breaker theory.

I have an issue that sounds the same except it is with my dining/sofa slide.
Stops when retracting, let go of the button and then try again, starts to move again.
I wonder if there was a defective batch of motors?

If you have the remote go outside and use it. In my 2011 every once in a while my unit would have the circuit breaker trip and you could hear it outside while using the remote both trip and reset. I could not hear it on the inside while operating the wall switch.

So, is there a solution to this problem yet? Curious minds want to know.
