29.5 FBDS Flood

Well, Wifey went to check on the camper Saturday and we found water...

Bathroom and bedroom were soaked. Turns out the water connection to the toilet had started leaking...we actually found water coming out to the bottom of the trailer...

Guess its better to discover at home and not on the road. So, service has been called and am waiting on them to call back and schedule a tech to review.

My concern is not the connection to the toilet, I can deal with that, what about hidden water damage and such, how far should I push them on that?

Thanks for letting me vent!

Get some fans going for a top side drying, not sure if it ran a long way to get out, everything underneath needs a look maybe. Not sure why it leaked, pump on?

Our JayFlight 27BHS (2016) completely flooded from one of those never fail Pex connectors that failed. Water was running out both ends of the trailer. We were at dinner and came back to a mess.

Long story short, over the next 3 days that we were camping the trailer dried out . This has been about 2 months ago. When I open it up in storage there is no musty or mildew smell. I don't see any evidence of water damage at all.

This trailer does not have an enclosed under belly so that may have helped getting it dried out.

Hope this helps !

Was it connected to city hookup? were the water lines pressurized?

People at our campground look at us funny every time we leave for the week. I shut off the water at a valve at the trailer connection, a shutoff valve at the supply, and the supply itself. The OP's post is the reason why.

Hope it is getting better for you.

We had the pump on and no city water, it had been that way for a few weeks and then one day wet. Called dealer on Saturday, just yesterday received a call back with a service date of this coming Wednesday. Not happy with that but not much we can do about it. We’ll see what they say/do...

Just frustrating!

Same here. I do the same when driving down the road - pump is off for just this reason.

Damage will depend on what part of the country you are in.

Out here in the desert things dry out fast. We had a similar 'flood' and after a day everything is bone dry.

If we were in South Carolina, stuff would still be damp and I'd be looking for mold everywhere. Might even call the insurance company and have an expert assessment.

Hold off on letting your insurance know you had a flood in your trailer unless you want your premium to go up. If it's the fault of someone else, let their insurance fix it. If it turns out they are not going to help you, then contact your insurance company. If you're going to fight them, then contact your lawyer.

Well I haven't been on here in a bit...

Tech came and after not finding anything wrong and telling us it was user error he found the issue. Clamp was installed wrong, then he found it was no good, he replaced all and said it would be fine, he ended up taking out all the underbelly insulation that was damp and replacing it. That made us happy!

Anyway, all seems to be fine now, will be hitting the road this weekend for a local quick trip and see how it all works out!
