A/C filter access?

Ok, so I may not be the sharpest crayon in the box here. How do I access the filters on the main unit in my 2016 Northpoint 377? I see no access on the outside of the unit and it is covered by the light and trim work over the island from the inside. I am looking at the manual (at least I think it is the right one) and it only explains pulling the filter out of the bottom. HVAC clearly is not one of my specialties.

Both of our current A/C units allow access via the bottom. The filter is just a small-ish rectangle of a grey foam. From below we have a 1/4 turn latch that holds an ice tray looking panel in place and the filter is just above that. This panel is roughly 12x6" and the 1/4 turn latch has a screw driver kind of slot that actually seems better suited for a coin.

The filters are under the metal return air grills.

Thanks! Good lord I was looking everywhere for access. Never crossed my mind to open the returns up.

Yes it is ducted. The returns are on the ceiling near the walls and where the ac unit sits it is covered by trim work so you don't see the actual unit when inside. Fancy, I guess, maybe to fancy for a simpleton like me when I can't figure out a simple filter cleaning.

All part of the "quiet cool" design. Also the a/c is mounted directly to the roof with lag screws. All removal and replacement is done from the roof, not inside.

my 2014 jay swift has a roof ac. The inside filter looks to be in the ceiling cover that has two control knobs. These knobs need to removed before I can take to cover off to clean the filter. Are the knobs removable & how do you remove them.
