Unhappy A/C Return Leaks!

Help! So our rear AC return vent leaks like crazy when it's raining. Worse, it even leaks when it is very humid outside. Has anyone had this problem? Do I need to crank down the bolts in order to squish the gasket a bit more? Would that even help? Meanwhile, I'm incurring water damage all through my vents... Thanks for any advice!

I would at least try tightening it up. Worst case scenario, go up there with a hose and poke around. Have someone inside to say when the water starts coming in. Could need tightened, or a bad seal, could be something else.

Sounds like clogged drain pan. It fills with water when it rains.

Thanks, I'll certainly try it. Sure hope the AC isn't mounted too far off the opening in the roof!
