Alternate Slam Latch Locks
I have had nothing but trouble with the latches on my slam latch doors. I get them adjusted where they will lock then for no reason they pop open when going down the road. They are the square aluminum type with a pull up handle and keyed in the middle. They are approximately 4" square in a Jayco Seneca baggage doors and they have a piece of metal round rod that forms an L that hooks into the cargo compartment itself, which is a fiberglass type enclosure. The key lock portion has a locking mechanism similar to a door handle, that when locked slides behind the L shaped rod somewhat like this \/. If anyone has had the same problem and found a fix for it I would love to know what you did to solve it or if there are different style replacement locks that would somehow have a slide bolt. I never had this much trouble with cam locks.
Thanks for any help you can offer.
