Awning Leg Closure

I have an automatic awning on a 2014 Premier fifth wheel. The rear leg (non-motor leg) does not close flush mount against the arm. It's one of those situations where it closed the correct way on one trip and on the next trip I noticed it wasn't closing all the way in. Any suggestions on how to fix this without replacing the leg?

First find out what's binding or not closing properly...

Is the gas strut not collapsing?
Is the outer section not aligning directly over the inner?
Is the handwheel nut for draining water, loose or locked?

Another possibility is the roller spring on that leg may need more tension.

Try lubricating all the joints and slide areas

My old awning did that I had to give it a little push to get it to lock in place. Put your hand on it just over the top of your head and push... you will hear it click into place..

Do you have anything mounted on the roller tube? Sometimes the awning will not retract evenly and pull in one side further than the other.

Also lubing 2-3X's per season is highly encouraged. I use pure silicone spray on mine.

I do have the loops that are designed to slide in the track and stay on while rolled in. I've been using these for a while, but will take them out and try the lubricant to see if this helps. Thanks for the tip.

If it's a side to side alignment you can do that through the mounting holes as they are oval to allow for movement side to side. These are the mounts to the unit wall I am talking about.
