Question Bar Fridge trips outlet on shore power, NOT off generator

This is really confusing - we left site 1 this morning and made site 2 this afternoon. Site 1 was 30A service, Site 2 is 15A/120V. Everything was fine at site 1, plug in to shore power at Site 2 and immediately trip the breaker supplying power.

Flipped over to the generator, no problem, nothing trips. Back to shore power, immediately trips the "dual 15A" breaker. Circuit tester shows the wiring to the trailer is fine.

Flipped the breakers all off and reconnected - all good. Turned on one at a time and isolated the issue - the bar fridge & utility 110v plug in the toy hauler is the issue. A/C is OFF, that's not the problem.

It runs fine off the generator. Ran fine off the 110v/30A at Site 1. Immediately trips the supply breaker at Site 2. Is my fridge toast? Damage during the 5 hour drive between sites??? I'm new here but this seems really really weird.

Anyone?

You had 30 amps of power at site one, 15 to 20 amp at site two. Perhaps will all running in the background the bar frig was enough to throw you over the breaker size, 15 or 20 amp.

Does your rig require 30 amp or 50 amp of power ? You should use the proper plug to get the power you need.

Opps reread....site 2 was only 15 amp...half the power you had on your first site..that's why the breaker tripped...did exactly what it was suppose to do, protect the campground wiring. Again you need to plug into the proper size receptacle.

Im sure your rig requires 50 amp service...you can adapt to a 30 or smaller but your getting a fraction of the power your rig requires.. 50 amp service delivers 100 amps of power at 120 volts...30 amp service delivers 30 amps of power at 120 volts and 15 amp service is 15 amps at 120 volts or...20% of what your rig should be connected to...most anything you plug in will trip the breaker.. Stay with a 50 amp service and you will have no issues..

I get that - but ALL other breakers were off - so it is blowing with ONLY the bar fridge on. And that would be way way way less than the 15A circuit can handle. ALL other breakers were flipped off. There is an outlet on that same circuit, but nothing is plugged into it.

No way the fridge would overload the circuit by itself.

we have used the 110v/15A adaptor at home to prep the trailer by running the fridge for 24h before we go to chill it all off and make sure everything stays fresh during the drive.

As long as the A/C isn't running, the total draw off the entire trailer is under 15A and has run for days on end with no issues. Something goofy today.

Guess I will have to get out the tools and uninstall/remove the fridge tomorrow to check for a wiring fault.
