If you camp at FHU sites, or with electricity at a minimum, you'll be fine with a new one just like your old battery. I'm guessing a group 24 or group 27. Our 2012 TT came with an Interstate gr24 like yours, and it's still going strong.

If you tend to boondock more, then you may want to upgrade, and there's a lot of members that have done just that, and may chime in in a bit.

Check the prices on a gr24 deep cycle at your local parts stores. Maybe one is having a sale or special of some sort, like a free gift card. That would be the least expensive way out for less than $100.

Does it make a difference if you purchase a sealed on or one that you have to add water?

No, so long as you're storing the flooded battery in an upright position.

AGM batteries are best, but they're not cheap. Prepare yourself

Sam’s Club batteries are very good, comparable priced and they stand behind their warranty. I have not bought a battery from anywhere else in the last 25-30 years. Only place I will buy a battery.

You might consider used Lithium batteries. Depending on when you buy on Ebay and other places, they cost the same or less than lead acid and totally outperform them. Added bonus is they weigh a lot less. I just bought a new small 12V for a 4wheeler. Battery plus was out of the regular battery that took almost 2 hands to carry. he did have a Lithium one at twice the price but with a 3 year warranty and i comfortably carried in one hand.

Your idea of installing the new trailer battery in the old trailer so you can sell the trailer is an excellent idea. With you usually having shore power just buy the least expensive sealed deep cycle battery you can find. No need to go with an expensive AGM.

This is your first mistake. You should only use distilled water only yes distilled water only. Bottle water is not the correct one to use. Any battery place will tell you this.

If you're selling it don't replace anything
