Buying a 2008 Seneca 36FS. Need Some Help.

Hi Everyone!
Well, we're finally getting our Seneca! We found a 2008 Seneca 36FS with 45k on it. We haven't seen it in person, but we'll be heading up to pick it up on Tuesday. That being said, I would love to have a check list of stuff to look for that could be potential problems prior to signing of on the unit. If any of you have the time, would you mind posting things that I shouldn't overlook? Especially if there has been any recalls or items in the Seneca's that have been troublesome and have been replaced by Jayco. Also, I would love to have a list of things to keep an eye on that could be potential problems as well.
I appreciate any info you may have, and assume I know nothing! lol
Thank you!
Jay

I would hire someone that's qualified on class "C"s to do a PDI for you if your not up to it yourself. This is not just a TT but a truck too and everything's got to work in one big package to get you down the road and living in it to. You haven't seen it yet and your picking it up on Tuesday! You got lots of work to do between now and then. Remember, sometimes sellers are thieves. You owned a Gulfstream and I'm sure it wasn't trouble free.

The only possible recall I heard of was for the transfer switch, it involved some, but not all SENECAs that year. One problem that people were encountering was the slide topper on the big slide as well as the lower hinge of the fridge door (a NORCOLD issue).

As to the chassis some people encountered leaking radiators due to bad crimps on the lower drivers side.

I had an 08 35GS and it was a very good unit, very reliable.

If you don't find a qualified person to do the PDI for you, search the JOF. There is a 'sticky' called
New RV Owner “Pre Delivery Inspection” (PDI) Checklist

It may be of some help to you.
