Cabinet latches

I have 2 cabinet latches failed on my second outing, I'm OK with jayco default latches, as long as they work, I heard that this is fairly common issue... Anyone figured out a way to make them more reliable or anyone has some good alternative?

We have friends who bungee cord or tie up their cabinets while traveling. They don't have a Jayco so it seems to be a universal issue. You may also want to rearrange your storage. For example we keep anything heavy (pots, canned goods, etc) inside the lower cabinets.

I use child proof locks that swivel so they can be disengaged when not needed. I got them at a store called babies R Us.
