Clarion stopped playing discs

Until today, I was able to successfully play DVD movies and audio CDs through the Clarion in-dash unit. I think mine is a Clarion NX-501. Now, however, when I insert any type of DVD/CD, it spins a bit and ejects it with an "Invalid disc" error on the screen.

The manual lists three reasons for this error:
1) A disc is caught inside the DVD deck and is not ejected.
2) A disc cannot be played due to scratches, etc.
3) A disc is loaded upside- down inside the DVD deck and does not play.

None of these applies to my situation. I tried several discs including one DVD which we watched on Friday night using the Clarion.

I tried the "reset" button, but it did not help. BTW, the non-disc functions work fine, e.g. backup camera, FM radio, Auxiliary inputs, etc.

Any ideas on what else to try?

Common problem.. usually cheaper to replace than repair.. IF your RV is under 2 years old it is covered by Jaycos warranty.. so see your dealer..

Spoke with our dealer today and they are ordering a replacement. Fortunately we have 16 months left on our warranty.

My only warranty claim was a Jensen that stopped playing disks just as you described. Jayco or Jensen was quick to send the dealer a replacement and they swapped it out in a matter minutes.
