Cleaning the Awning

What does everyone use to clean their awning? I used awning cleaner but it did not seem to do a good job.

Get a garden sprayer, add hot water about 2 cups of bleach and some Dawn dish detergent. Spray awning good, roll it up let it sit about 10-15 min, unroll and rinse. You may need to scrub stubborn spots, but normally not.

PS wear old clothes because of bleach..

If part of the problem is mold/mildew growing on your awning try Concrobium to prevent recurrence.

I do the bleach/dish soap trick except I use a brush to apply. Top of our awning is black and it has not faded yet.

Our awning is all white on both sides, which I thought at first was a dumb idea. Ours gets cleaned with Magic Erasers on both sides, about twice a season. After, it gets wiped down with 303 Protectant. It's crazy how those little wimpy sponges get things clean again.

I have always used exactly what Grumpy said...........works great. I just use a large paper cup and throw the mixture on and also under the awning.
