Closing an awning without electricity

I've got a QBW212 with an electric awning. How would you unfurl it or retrieve it without electricity. I can't seem to find the answer in the owner's manual.

Thanks

Most electric awnings require power to extend or retract. I know the Carefree brand has external terminals on the motor head and gives you a cord with battery clips on one end to connect to an external 12-volt battery for emergency situations.

I read somewhere that there was a way to retract it by disconnecting the motor side to let it roll up, but I can't remember where.

Who makes the electric awning on your trailer? Solera by LCI (Lippert) made mine. It has a rubber grommet you take out, and then can use a drill and socket to roll it up.

The only problem I've seen is how do you get that high. Seems like you'd need a step ladder.

When you determine who made your awning, you can go on line and download the manual for your particular awning. That should tell you exactly how to retract the awning without power.

First off they use your 12v power source. So it your rv battery is dead, connect your tv to the tt, to provide power. Our carefree awning came with a long power cord, that can be connected to the motor, and to and spare battery, or tv battery.

I have never heard of a motor failure.

The Carefree electric awning on our previously owned Greyhawk had an option to power the owning directly from the battery. Fortunately, we never needed to use it.

One time I thought we might, but it turned out that the awning wasn't level. One side was set on a different pitch setting than the other. Our awning would only move a few inches if the pitch on each side was not set at the same setting.
