Commode seal & pump filter

Today was toilet repair day . Thetford brand needed a bowl seal. I had cleaned & greased with plumbers grease but no luck. Easy as I can get to the 2 screws that hold the bowl down without undoing bottom 1/2 from floor.
2nd job was after 3 years , replacing the filter assembly on the water pump. The cap had cracked some years back so I just removed it till I got the part. We really don't use the pump so I just kept forgetting to get one but it's fixed now.

Isn't it nice when projects are finished?

My toilet seal just started leaking.

I'll try some plumber's grease on it, but I doubt that'll work this time...

I wish I had the room to access those screws although I've only had to replace the seal once until last year. Last year the foot peddle spring finally wore out after 7 years and unable to snap back without manual assistance, meaning my foot. I ordered the base only for 1/2 the price of a new toilet and it's like new again. Just a heads up that this part is available if needed down the road.

Don't waste your time like I did with the grease. The gaskets come for both the floor & bowl, really quick job. Just dont overtighten the bowl bolts.

I did exactly that and now have a hairline crack in the porcelain from the mounting bolt to the bottom of the bowl. The bowl itself was not compromised and only 1 side has the crack. It seems to be fine but I wish they sold a replacement bowl.
