Dometic 9100 Awning-How to Extend to Work on it

Hi, the power awning on my 2014 Jayco 19RD just stopped working while fully closed. I have searched and found lots of info about testing, repair, etc... but nothing that tells me how to release it so I can actually get to the motor and back of the channel. I think removing the screw on the very top of RH side will allow me to unroll it 1-2 turns. But I don't want to cause any other issues.
Anyone done this and can suggest that first step?
