Well it passed predelivery inspection, but I've never owned a power awning so I thought it was par for the course. Should I have them look at mine too?

Looking at that video, I don't think my awning does that either. I'm pretty sure I'd remember that. Definitely looks like the gas shocks releasing like they were sticking. Have to wait until the big melt before I can remove the cover and check it out.

I watched the video, and that's the same thing my last two awnings did. Like I said in another post, I put Slick50 on the rod of the shock and they never done it again, I tried oil first and it worked for a short time, the slick50 worked all year.

That's the "pop" lubrication will eliminate that so the shock contantly is applying pressure when unwinding. You could also have a bad shock and the only way to confirm is to remove it and see that it expands when compressed.

Well, we're talking off this evening for our first trip in the new trailer, so I'll lube it up with some WD-40 and see if that changes things. I'll pick up some slick50 next week.

Mine does exactly the same as in the vid. I will be lubing it next time I see the trailer.

Wondering if 3-in-1 will work? I have it easily accessible as I keep a bottle in my trailer. I have some spray lube in the garage, and I have some really high quality stuff in my range bag if you guys think those might work better?

I tried the 3-in 1 oil, but it didn't last very long, the seal on the shock wiped it off, the slick50 is so slick and sticky that it stays on.

x3, since new. I come out 2 feet, wait for the pop then continue. I thought it was the gas shock initial push out on the arm.

The service dept called me today and said they fixed it best as they could. Going to pick it up in the AM and see what it does. Thanks for all your replies. Will keep you posted.

This is an old post I know but were they able to fix your problem?

My local dealers' repair shop said an electric awning that "pops" is typically due to the arms not being in the proper alignment...the arms in alignment with the mounting track. Watching your video, the timing of the pop was right when the bottom of the arm was leaving the mounting track...does that make sense? Maybe there was some binding going on there?

The repair shop told me they can adjust this to work fine while in their shop but extreme cold or hot temperatures could still make it pop again due to expansion and contraction of the arms and/or the trailer itself.

Read thru this thread while searching for answers to a different problem my awning is having but thought I'd pass along this info in case anyone is still finding problems with popping.
