FIX-IT visits

Regardless of your Jayco product - how many dealer (or Jayco) "fix-it" visits have you logged? [this does not include annual maintenance, enhancements, winterizing, etc.]

well 1 so far ... it has been there since November for warranty work and I hope they are getting close but I don't want to call them and bug them yet because the lot where I park it is snow covered right now ... by mid march I will be getting in touch and hope they have most of it done

Zero trips in 5+ years for anything. I have fixed a couple minor problems myself.

well I wouldn't have taken mine in but I had one awning arm that the dealer broke during his delivery walk around and since I had it there I had them work on replacing a cabinet door that was separated, one of my kitchen slide seals wasn't even contacting the wall and I ask them about seeing what they could do with that and both my shower door handles fell off and I ask them to reapply them ... hope they do these few things right as I would have rather done the work myself and know it was being done to my satisfaction

Wow....I have never been in the shop since new. I have a 2008 with extended warranty that I never needed to use. I read where others are having issues and problems and can only surmise that when they did a QC check on mine, they must have trained other QC inspectors on it. I consider myself real lucky. For this reason I have resisted trading for a new one.

Never had to take ours in. The awning over our super slide started pulling loose, and Jayco authorized a mobile repair shop to come to our site and replace it with a new awning. Had a problem with my outside LED strip (not all the lights were working) and Jayco sent me a brand new set, and finally, our water valve was messed up so Jayco sent me a complete brand new assembly. All 3 would have also been covered had I pulled it to a dealer, but being at a seasonal site and having a wrap around deck, I asked and they let me complete the 2 minor fixes myself.

Trailer is almost a year old and zero so far. I fixed catches on drawers. Was easy. Two drawers would open in transit but no longer do after fixing.

2 so far, but got to do at least one more. Still trying to get trailer Brakes to work right!

2 for me. One was because on the day I picked it up, the tech routed the cord wrong and it got pinched in the hitch somewhere and partially severed the cord. That was a FUN tow back to the dealer with intermittently operational trailer brakes!

The other was to fix the diamond plate coming unglued from the front of the trailer, leaving a gaping hole in the paneling just where the runoff comes down from the front cap. If it had rained, that hole would've acted like a drain and all the water would have gone straight into the wall and the front storage compartment. I also had a small hole in the slideout roof fixed on that trip and had all the openings on my trailer (roof seals and caulk on the outside) inspected and documented for warranty documentation.

I voted for 6-10 warranty visits, but that is a little misleading. This is over a 4 year period and most of the "visits" the service manager came to my site to perform the work. Actual visits to the dealer 1-2. I don't really remember and these were scheduled in advance and I stopped in for the work while traveling to somewhere else and it was performed while I waited.

On the brake deal ... Just a question as I have begun to wonder ... How many miles driven does it take for the brakes to bed in and begin to work what I would consider properly? On my enclosed car trailer I have noticed mine work a ton
Better now that I have over 4000 miles driving distance with it behind me. I talked with a man who rebuilds brake linings and shoes and he said with drum brakes sometimes it can take 100s of miles for them to begin to bed in and work the way they are supposed to. I only have about 200 miles on my new camper and the brakes still don't feel great yet but I am sure after my next long journey they will begin to ... MTC
