For those with the big Schwintek

I was going over the rig before a weekend today and found this screw backed out all way to where it’s just hanging on. Found all but two of the others to be lose. Something to watch for.

Every 3 to 4 months I go around and check all those screws on both the Schwintec & Slim Rack slides. Good preventive maintenance.

I never paid much attention to them. They’re on my list now for sure. Lube and check those at the same time.

Wonder if small lock washers would work to keep to keep those screws tight?

Those screws are on my small bedroom slide at the top. I just checked and one of mine was loose.

One more thing to check every now and again.

On the big kitchen slide we have 7 of 18 screws with the heads sheared off on the aft seal and 3 of 18 on the front. That's an item on the list to have them fix under warranty during our service visit.

Blue or red Loctite would work also.
Red will require heat to be removed in most cases.

I have found that when button head screws are tightened properly they are hard to loosen.

Is that screw screwing into metal? I had assumed it was being screwed into wood.

I thought the screw pictured was one that held the motor in place, I have always checked the tightness of the many screws holding the slide frame in place but never even saw this one, it's the same color of the gasket and goes thru it,

I’ll have it to look again. I think it go’s into metal. I thought about some blue locktite. Since I’ve tightened these, when the slide travels back in it’s less smooth then it was to start with. I wonder how tight these should be. I just did hand tight and then a bit. I didn’t get crazy with it.

One more thing related to this slide.... I just noticed two orange lines on my floor in the kitchen and looking under my slide, they match up the with marks there. Seems my slide is dragging on the floor towards the middle. Anyone else seen this. Very irritating as I told the dealer when last there it seemed to really struggle a bit as it comes back in. They seemed to think it was all normal. Now I see why.

The rubbing floor may be placing stress on the slide mechanism causing the screws to loosen up.Cant imagine they are suppose to be tightened gently.

When you said the dragging is worse when the screws are tight that is because the rack can't compensate for the warped flooring.
Can you notice the floor being warped inside when extended?

If the screws have a fine thread they are for metal.

You may be right. I can’t visibly see any floor warping inside, but your idea sounds plausible. I’ll probably deal with it for a bit, and then I’ll run it into the dealer this fall sometime. I really hope it’s something they can find a fix for. I don’t want this to be a go to the factory type situation.
