Front electric jack question.

Getting ready to leave the campground. TT is stored there. Disconnect battery, and shore power, then realize that I have not lowered the front jack to that the water drains off the roof. I plug into shore power and try to lower the front jack. It doesn't do anything. I hook the battery up, and down it goes! Is this normal?

It may be you just blew the battery fuse in the converter. The tongue jack draws a lot of current. Could be more than the converter was designed to handle. Typically the tongue jack is connected right at the battery.

Where do I find the battery fuse in the converter? Heck, for that matter where the heck is the converter?

I believe the front jack also operates off 12 volts. If you disconnected the battery, you just cut off all your 12 volt power. The 110 power is mostly to keep your batteries charged and supply power through the inverter. That is the way I understand which sure as heck does not make it law! lol

I don't think you have a problem. Most of the power for the jack comes from the battery.

The tongue jack is normally wired directly to the battery. When you disconnected the battery were there 2 connection to the + pos side of the battery? The tongue jacks often ground through the metal of the jack touching the tongue of the trailer. Both should be bare for the best ground.
