Frost in freezer

We noticed on our maiden voyage with our new / used 5th. Wheel that the freezer accumulated Frost easily, after inspecting the seals seem good. So I was wondering if anybody else has shimmed the latch to the freezer or added a thin weather stripping to stop the outside air from entering, or are those fridge/freezer models just prone for this. Thanks

The fridges seals are actually magnetic so if the door is not lining up properly to the opening then you will have the frost issue happen. You can call the manufacturer of the fridge and they can give you instructions on how to adjust/shimmy the doors to be able to make a better seal

RV frig's are not frost free like your home refrig.. You will get frost since a heater, like your home frig, would use too much power. It's normal, typical and doesn't mean anything is not working properly.

An easy trick to taking care of this. Place a couple of thin flexible cutting boards up against the walls and surfaces of your freezer. The frost just pops right off.

Check this video from RV Vlogger Changing Lanes for details:

Top mounted RV freezer's like to be kept full, minimizes freezer frost build up and helps with cooling the main frig below.

I keep (4) 2 gallon freezer bags full of ice in the freezer to take up the empty space....., add delete as needed.
