Getting the companion hitch (heavy base ) out of bed

Any ideas to ease the removal of the heavy base ,not the fifth wheel plate, of the companion fifth wheel unit?

I made “skis” for mine and it slides around pretty easy. Cut 2x4’s about 4” longer than the puck-to-puck distance on each side, drill holes for the locks to sit in and if you want to be fancy bevel the ends to make them more ski-like. I lift one side at a time and put a ski in place.

I bought an electric winch from Menards for $90 and mounted it in my rafters and use it to lift my hitch out of the truck. I then lower it to a furniture dolly and move it around as needed. Sure beats trying to muscle my 200lb hitch around.
