GFI problem

Good day
I have a issue with the gfi getting tripped when we have a power surge from lightning storms in the area .I realize that it is doing its job but shuts off my fridge each time and since it is a park model we are not always up there to reset it and everything in the fridge of course goes bad . I believe if I put a surge protector outside at the plug that would help that not being tripped but I would still have to be there to reset the surge protector if I understand properly that when it gets tripped by a power surge. Has anyone come across this issue before.
Thank you

Install a hardwired EMS inside your TT, this way you dont have to worry about someone walking off with a portable unit when your not there. It will turn itself back on once power is restored, nothing to reset
