Grey water leak

We took the trailer out for our first trip of the year this past weekend. We could hear water leaking from the galley tank. Drained the tank and eventually it stopped leaking from the underbelly. Tried again with a little water in the sink and it leaked again. Also noticed a slight leak from the bathroom gray tank. We aren't positive on this one yet if water flowed forward or if it has a leak too. I have always winterized the trailer my self and never had a problem. Always made sure to pour extra fluid down the drains to protect the traps. Water is not entering the trailer and seems to com from the tank as it goes in. We bought extended warranty for the trailer would it kick in here or am I better off to fix it my self.

Dropped the underbelly and it turns out the tank is cracked right near where the abs fitting leaves. Is the a repair kit for this. Looking at plasti mend.

Nothing to loose trying it. Just going to leak on the ground. Like most adhesives/sealants clean it real good and maybe scuff with a scotch brite pad for "tooth"

I hear mixed reviews on the patches due to possibly of flexing.

Nothing lost in trying!

I would say your problem sounds like a good one to have. Just put a bowl under the leak and you'll have plenty of "gravy" for your mashed taters.

There was a guy on another forum (from my previous 5th wheel model) who had the same problem and used the PlastiMend through Amazon, I believe. He said it did a good job. Apparently, there is a lot of stress where the neck of the pipe leads into the tank and he was somehow able to use a flexible fitting to take out some of that stress. I guess it depends on where the crack is.

That sounds like the same thing. The crack runs from about 6 o'clock to about 8 o'clock around the bottom of the fitting. I think I am going to try the plasti mend. My next door neighbour is an RV repair guy so I will see what he thinks about how to fix it. Just waiting for him to come home from the weekend.

You probably spent a lot for the extended warranty, so use it.

So what I have found out with this problem. The problem is mice have chewed both my grey tanks. No warranty or insurance for rodent damage, I have the underbelly dropped and have ordered a product called Plasti-mend to patch these small holes. I will update how it goes, reviews on other forums seem positive. Also chewed some ducts which required foil tape.

Well this just gets worse all the time. I have patched both grey tanks and they are sealed and I checked the black and it also has been chewed and has a very slight leak which hasn't shown up but leaks into the insulation. Pulled back more underbelly and patched this hole now too. I have put together the galley tank area and tomorrow I will put the front together. Underbelly up and re hook up the gas line. What a pain in the butt. I am only into this repair for just over $100 and my time. I figure replacing 3 tanks at the dealer at $140/hr would get pretty close $2500-$3000. We have put some 110v sonic rodent repel things in the trailer to hopefully keep the little buggers out.
