Greyhawk winterizing and check valve

Tried to winterize my coach but ran into a problem with the water pump not siphoning antifreeze into the system. I noticed there is no cone-shaped screen over the check valve, so I couldn't flip it around as so many have recommended. There appears to be a black rubber gasket in that area but no screen. Is this normal for a 2017 Greyhawk? I have attached a picture. Any suggestions or input on this issue. Thanks.

You can buy those cone shaped screens at Walmart or any RV store. Camco makes them.

Is this a new to you MH? Or have you had it for a few years?

You can also get them at any hardware store in the garden center.

I suspect someone lost it, and replaced it with a normal garden hose washer.

So, do you have this cone-shaped screen on your unit? I've haven't winterized it myself so I don't remember if I had this screen or not. Would not having one affect your water pressure when hooked up to city water?

One comes on the rig when it's new. I bought spares at Walmart.

It has no effect on the city water pressure unless it gets clogged with dirt. I use an external water filter on the hose bib, so only clean water goes into the rig.

Also, make sure it's the water inlet you're connecting to, and not the black tank flush. There isn't a cone filter on the black flush connector.
