Question Hendo

Our 2013 RLTS came with Tomax 235/80R16 tires. GVW is 14,950lbs. Thinking of replacing with Goodyear G1614 RST (235/85 R16). I believe the original aluminum tires are compatible. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated. thanks.

The only difference in the sizes is the sidewall ratio 80 vs. 85. This means the Goodyears will be slightly 'taller'. Pretty much any 16" tire will fit on any 16" rim. If both tires are rated at the same pressure then go for it.

I would inspect the rims. Stamped somewhere in the back side of the rim should be a stamped pressure rating. If it is rated for 110 psi, you will be in good shape to use the same rim with a G rated tire.

I would just keep the newest, best tire for a spare.
