Heritage pop up water system

I have a 1998 Heritage Laurel camper with a water system problem. When I hook up to city water the tank fills up and overflows. The valve is in the correct position. Can anyone tell me the possible source of this problem?

Sounds like the valve maynot be in the correct position.
Try turning the valve into the fresh water holding tank 90 degrees and see if it still goes in. That valve should not allow anything into the holding tank.

Another possibility is a leak through you water pump. There is a backflow preventer in the pump that should be preventing the pressure side from backing into the non-pressure side, but when this goes your tank will start filling. It is usually associated with pump pressure problems, continuous running, as well though.
