Yes, I bought all the supplies at Lowes, except for the tool itself, lots cheaper at Amazon.

I ordered a small kit from Amazon last year, the crimper and a few 1/2" and 3/4" clamps. With the age of our TT I too thought it a good idea. I might be able to help out someone else that has a leak when we're out camping. I might even get a couple of Sharkbite fittings to carry along.

Not a bad idea. Cheap and they don’t take up much space in the tool box. I’ll add, something to cut the line with. I had a tool for cutting PVC and just used that.

X2, excellent ideas. I do have more than needed, kind of went crazy stupid at Amazon with the kits. Now I need to learn how to use it, lol.

I had the same issue with my RV and there are two reasons. First, the flex hose you have is not meant to go with the PEX connector you have. I don't know why the RV manufacturers use it. The flex hose is just a bit bigger than PEX pipe and will eventually cause a small leak. The second problem is the connector itself. As you suspected, the little yellow gasket is crap and if you overtighten them they will start leaking. My advice would be to replace the connector with a brass one, they have better quality gaskets and then replace the flex hose with PEX pipe.

Here's a good thread on a similar issue.

Any road fixes you all can recommend? Leak is from the back of the black connection. I’m guessing I tightened it down and crushed the little yellow gasket in there.

Local LOWES? Buy a spare, too? On the fittings using the vinyl hose, screw clamps vs PEX needs the crimps. https://www.lowes.com/pd/SharkBite-1...ing/1000182933
