How much weight on the roof?

It really doesn't take much "elbow grease" to clean the roof. I use a SOFT bristle brush and a bucket of water mixed with a little "Murphy's". Doesn't take much effort and the roof comes clean easily.

The only difficulty I have is that my wife has to "supervise" while I'm on the roof. If I fell off, it could be hours before anyone came looking for me!

The video is fine and dandy if your weight is spread over the whole surface of the roof. When walking on any surface your applying your weight to only a 1 square foot or so area. This a big difference on weight capacity of a surface. No where does Jayco specify the weight capacity rating per square foot surface area. This was something I had to deal with on a regular basis in industrial manufacturing plants when working on roofs. Not saying that it would not hold your weight but be very careful.

I would suggest that you just use a bucket of soapy water like you use for washing cars and a bristle brush one on a pole, and one small one for around objects like vents and antennas and forget the power washer. You will get your roof clean as it needs to be using this method. Power washers have a way of working things loose and you don't want to peel up caulking or damaging vents etc. You just don't need the hassle. I tie a rope to the bucket of soapy water and hoist it up after I am on the roof. Be careful of the ladder when you come down as your feet will be wet and really slippery.

I have tried both pressure washing and the brush method.As a home maintainence professional I can say you must be very careful with a pressure washer.one second of inattention at too high a pressure can spell disaster.Anyone should err on the side of caution.leave the pressure washer on the ground.A quick sweep with it on low pressure after you scrub with a brush will render a very nice job.Dont be too concerned with getting all the black stains off because you cant.I have tried everythng and good old elbow grease is about the best i have come across.
