I had my 7 pin go intermittent going down CA 1. I pulled off at a rest stop, pulled the 7 pin and noticed some of the clips opened. So it took a small screwdriver and bent the clips towards each other. When we camped that night I cleaned the contacts with CRC contact cleaner. That was the ritual until we got home and I replaced the 7 pin.

Ten minutes with contact cleaner once a year is regular maintenance for me. I lube the locks during the same process.
