How to remove Jay Flight awning for roof replacement

Does anybody have any tips or web links for how best to remove the awning from my 2006 Jay Flight 29BHS? I need to remove the roof trim edge/awning track in order to replace the roof decking. I don't have much experience with the awnings on RVs. Ideally there will be a way to do it alone. I'd like to leave as much of it intact as possible, like maybe support it with its legs, unscrew the edging/track and lean it back a ways. Will that work? Thanks!

After more googling and thinking I think my problem is solved. I'm just hoping for miracles in my project and looking for tips.

Well, all I can say is ... whether you're doing it the right way or the wrong way, it's not a one person job.

Yup! I agree. In my case I inadvertently boxed my awning in with the scaffolding I built around the trailer. I was able to support it with a couple of 2x4s and remove the roof edge rail leaving the awning attached to the rail and basically in place but out of the way. Now, re-installing that will be a different challenge! That will be next spring.

Doing it alone: Just un-screw the top bolts from the bracket and let it rest on the vertical arms. If you use scaffold let it lean against the scaffold, if not, you have to brace the arms.
Then you van do whatever you have todo to the gutter.
