How would you fix?

The screw holding the bedroom curtain track to the ceiling stripped out right after we bought our new rig. The ceiling is so soft, almost like heavy cardboard, I’m not sure the “toothpick trick” would hold for very long. Maybe a plastic wall anchor (the kind for drywall)? Ideas appreciated!

The material use throughout RVs is luan, a very thin plywood. A drywall butterfly or similar large anchor will work much better. This is a common problem with this thin stuff.

X2 - Or if you can get a small block of wood behind the screw that would work. In my bedroom I can remove a ceiling speaker which gives me a hole big enough to get my hand in on top of the ceiling. Not sure if you have access like that or not.

A plastic drywall anchor with a small blob of construction adhesive on it. Re-fasten the screw when the adhesive is dry.

Winged plastic anchor. Use the same length screw.

I like the anchors that look like a large coarse screw that the screw then threads into.

That makes 6 answers.... all different

Wow! Thanks, all for the ideas. Didn’t even think about access from the speaker. Will check that out, too. Much appreciated!

Likely less than 1 1/2 inch to that framing
