Hummingbird 17RK Water Heater Bypass Location?

Does anyone know where the water heater bypass valves or water pump are are located in a 17RK? My best guess is under the plywood floor of the bed/mattress but I thought I should ask you before I take that apart.

I think it would be somewhere accessible, usually right on or by the water heater. I doubt it would be someplace where you have to take a lot of things apart to get to it.

You'd think so but I don't see any other access points or panels. It's strange. Maybe I'm blind and it's right in front of my face but I can't find it

As justman said it should be close to the hot water tank. Looking at exterior pictures of the 17RK it looks like the tank is located on the front-left corner which would put it under the queen bed. I see there is under-bed storage access from the front-right corner - can you see the back of the tank when looking in the storage access door?

Thanks ttavasc. I don't believe I can see the back of the tank from the under bed storage but will have another look in the daylight tomorrow. I emailed Joyco and the Dealer where I purchased the trailer as well

I think its under the bed, cause when I had it winterized by the dealer, they mentioned it was there. Please let me know what you find out. Thanks

In my JF X213 I had to unscrew 2 plywood panels under my dinette seats to access the water heater bypass under the right one and the pump and the winterizing diversion valve under the left one. You may have to do some disassembly to access yours too.

Lift the panel under the bed and you have access to the furnace, water heater and pump. I saw the bypass valves there. They also have tubing and valves installed to be able to draw in anti-freeze in the same access location.

Lots of good advice. Look for the water heater form the oitside, then go inside and locate it.

you should need a #2 square drive screw driver bit, to get to it. I think my htt had two screws holding down the access cover. After the first entry I left the screw out.

Yup, it sounds like it is under the bed. Jayco responded to my email already and that's what they said too. I'll have a look after work

Please update us, and any pictures would be a bonus. We live far enough south that I have a while before I have to winterize.

I was able to finish the winterizing today.

The water pump, hot water tank bypass valves and furnace are all located under the bed/mattress.

I had to take two phillips head screws out then lift a 1/4" plywood panel up and out of the way.

If you do this, I recommend removing the screws that hold the curtain panels in place as they are very delicate and pull out of the wall easily.

I have the 17RB. I bought a used 2017 model, which had barely been used. My biggest disappointment has been the lack of accessibility of the hot water heater bypass valves. Mine are also located under the bed. Unfortunately, you have to lift up the mattress and remove four screws to open up the plywood cover. Because of the location of the TV bracket and the brackets that hold down the window curtains on either end of the bed, I found it impossible to raise the mattress more than 12" - 15". My wife held it up while I squeezed through the opening to adjust the valves. I'll only need to do this 3 or 4 times a year to sanitize the water system and winterize it, so,it is manageable. The Hummingbird is basically well designed, which is what attracted me to it, so I am surprised they dropped the ball on this design detail. If anyone has a slick trick for performing this task I would appreciate hearing from you. By the way, my wife and I made our first trip in it this weekend and we loved it! Just dreading the next time I need to turn the bypas valves.
