Inverter Stops

We have a Pinnacle 36 FTBS
- 4 * 200W Renogy solar panels
- 4 * 12V 100Ah Lithium batteries
- Rover 60A MPPT
- Xantrex 1000W inverter.

We are off-grid

When I start the inverter the fridge comes on and runs for a while - sometimes a day or two but then the inverter stops - and the fridge with it.

What am I not aware of? Thanks for any suggestions.

Well I don't know what year your camper is and how long you have had the setup. But in my opinion you are a bit mismatched with the nice amount of solar panels with a correct matched controller. But your 1000 watt inverter can be increased to at least 2000 watt inverter. Do you know the output of your solar package? It should show it on your controller.

Have you checked each battery for similar volts , that may be creating a shut down as a result of low voltage. Do you have any inline fuses in the battery cable run the inverter? Have you felt the battery lead to the inverter to see if you have a warm cable?
Its really hard to diagnose the problem from a distance. What is the age of your frig?

2017 23RB Jayco Jayflight, great camper, loved it but sold, dog told me she needed more room, rigged perfectly and updated for off the grid.

My Xantrex inverter has a software setting that will shut the inverter off after a few days, unless you disable that setting. It is an optional safety feature to keep you from discharging your batteries if you forget to turn off the inverter in storage. Check your manual on how to access the setting.

I found the setting and turned it to OFF. Thanks!

Next problem is that the Inverter only seems to make the fridge run. None of the 110V outlets are hot and the vacuum doesn't work. Is that the way it is designed to work? I also started the generator to see if that made a different but it didn't.

Probably only for the fridge. Maybe the TV as a long shot.

Most items are by design, NOT on the inverter circuit. You would have to wire their breakers over to the inverter panel. I moved two breakers on mine over so that I had more A/C outlets working off battery power.

Please note that with only 1000W inverter, you are pretty limited in what you can run at one time with the fridge on. If its important to you, I'd suggest upgrading to a 2000w or 3000w inverter. If you use the same brand/series it is a pretty easy swap.

It is easy to swap a larger inverter in for what you've got but please remember that you will also probably need to upgrade the size of the wiring between the batteries and inverter to carry the additional current. A 2000W inverter will draw as much as 167 amps from your batteries so will likely need at least 2/0 wiring.

Good suggestion to move some breakers. How do I do that? And yes, I will probably upgrade my inverter.

My inverter on my Pinnacle 2022 36SSWD will only run residential fridge and one outlet on the TV.
