J Steel Sofa brackets

DW and I recently found that the brackets used to hold the jsteel sofa to the wall were torn out of the wall. We have not misused it or trashed it in any way. In fact, the first time we folded the seat down to operate the air mattress/pump was when we noticed it.

Seems that the 1 screw OEM is superiorly inadequate, but does anyone have thoughts as to whether this may or may not be a warranty issue? We are still in the warranty period, but playing devil's advocate....I can see where Jayco wouldn't cover this under warranty.

Is there a better way to secure the sofa so it doesn't move while the sleeper is out? More brackets? More Screws? Seems that even if they reattached it under warranty, it would just go back to the inferior set up. There was a mod on here I saw when I searched for help, but I don't have a big workshop and posses moderate handyman skills at best.

If anyone has experienced anything similar and fixed it, would appreciate any advice. THANKS!

I had the same issue, however there were 2 screws in each bracket, one bracket on each side. I bought 2 "chair brackets" at Lowes and used those, so far so good. I found mine loose from the walll the very first time I pulled out the sofa.

Samething happened to mine on first trip out. Under waranty, so not Worrying about it, will let the shop fix it... Along with some other minor stuff.
We sure got good use of this 5th wheel this year!

Problem with letting them fix it is that the will use the same cheap set-up that went bad in the first place.

We'll see, another year warranty so if it happens again, we'll be sure to get the improved method of fixing it
