Jack knife sofa

We have a 2015 FBS with a jack knife sofa that is fine to sit on, but is uncomfortable to sleep on. Any suggestions on how to make it more comfortable?

Not sure its possible. Had one in our last trailer and only ever put a child on it for that reason. Worked good for them though with the dip in the middle. They cozied right in and didn't have to worry about rolling off.

I bought memory foam (full size) and cut it to fit on top of the sofa when it's down. No one has slept on it yet but I did buy the same memory foam for the dinette and someone did sleep on that. Worked out fine. Just hoping the memory foam works on the dips of the couch. If not, might roll a towel to lay in there and put the memory foam on top. We don't usually travel with "guests"...but it does happen on occasion. Good luck! Hope you find something that works for you. Let me know if you find something better!

Do you need it for sleeping or just sitting? I removed mine as it's just the 2 of us and it was uncomfortable for sitting.

Not cheap but worth the cost to us.

Replaced it with a residential loveseat/recliner unit. Before and after pics.

We use our memory foam only when someone is sleeping on it. Love the new love seat!

Yeah I know this is an old post but I think the only way to fix the Jack knife Sofa is to unbolt the sucker and get rid of it. If our trailer had more space where it unfolds I would replace it with something like Wireman has. I wonder if it's possible to just re-upholster it and use some memory foam and better fabric that opens to proper bed. That would be a challenge but worth doing I think.

The jack knife sofa was one of the reasons we upgraded to our current TT. Our DD outgrew the sofa for sleeping. When made into a bed one side was very soft (back) and the other side (seat) was firm. Have the trifold sofa now and she has no problem sleeping on it.
