Jayco 154 BH shower caulk

I've seen a few posts about this and just curious if the partical board they use throughout the trailer is waterproof. Doesn't take long for it to evaporate off the walls after a shower but just seems like something else should be there. Also the trim that goes around the tub is not caulked so hoping the tub actually goes up the wall so all the water gets back into the tub. Anyone else see this with their flight slx?

NO caulk.... this is to let any water that gets behind that panel drain out... water does not run up hill so do not worry about it..

What I would worry about( maybe it's just me) but the screws wicking water into the paneling. I had to change out several screws on the outside because of water wicking in. In my opinion all those little screws should have a tiny "O" ring to keep water out. I also had to caulk both sinks. Would I caulk, yes I would then I would know 100% that no water gets in but I could still be wrong.

Ok thanks guys. I figured that trim around the tub didn't need caulk or Jayco would have done it. Eventually your right about those screws though.. Some of them are pretty crooked and loose so I suppose they'll get a 1 over from me.

When I removed the tub from my trailer I found putty tape sealing the gap between the tub flange and the wall. I suspect the putty also seals the screw threads. I would run a thin bead of silicon around the top of the flange if it were me. I would also seal the top of the valve housing where it meets wall. Maybe its not necessary but then I am no longer concerned with it.

I just traded in my 2014 SLX 165RB a few weeks ago, so I can't look to verify, but I'm pretty dang sure my tub was caulked. The photos look exactly like my old unit.

Ya it's almost like they just forgot to hit the tub with some caulk. They did do the corners of the trim and up the wall in each corner. It's not like they build these in 5 hours or anything

Here's a shot of my 2015 195RB Baja tub - you can see the caulk around the top of the tub. I also have a trim seal up the corner of the wall instead of caulk. Sure looks like something was missed on yours.

I was looking at my picture and saw what I thougt was glue I'm for sure missing that trim and no caulk.. It's more of a pain to take it to the dealer for me than it is to just get some trim and do it myself. Thanks a lot guys

Good plan... Water shouldn't get behind anything. Add soap to the mix and it will be rank in no time. I would be surprised if mushrooms didn't appear.
There's no way it was designed for water to "run" out the bottom.
